Kind Words from Families

In some of life’s most difficult moments, trust means everything.
We are deeply grateful to the families across Whitehaven and Cumbria who have shared their experiences with Pets at Peace. Your kind words mean more to us than we can say.

Eric

There aren’t the words to express how truly grateful I am to pets at peace. My gorgeous soul dog Eric passed at the beginning of January. When this happened the only thought I had was that I wanted pets at peace to cremate him. The reason being I know for certain he is being cremated alone as with bigger companies although this is what your led to believe it isn’t always the case. And that was my worry. I also wanted Eric to be kept close to home and handled with care. I didn’t want him to just be a number. So sadly Eric passed on the Sunday and by he was cremated the following day. When I went Monday evening to collect his ashes I said to my daughter who was in the car waiting for me that I’d only be a few minutes as I was just going to pay and collect his ashes.
How wrong was I 🥹🥹. I ended up getting Eryn out of the car and we stayed there from 7:30pm (already past closing) til almost 9pm. Steven and Jeanne talked to us about Eric and we shared photos and videos. They then spoke about their dogs and how they came about to start the business. Nothing was rushed. Everything was done with care love and attention. They took the time to show us round the building and show us the gorgeous photos of all the dogs they had looked after since they opened. This was truly beautiful and it was even more wonderful that they could remember each animal and talk about them as if they were their own. Upon leaving with Eric’s ashes, I also got paw prints, some of his hair in a keepsake bottle and a gorgeous slate heart plaque with a quote and Eric’s name. The whole experience from start to finish was absolutely perfect and I can’t thank Steven and Jeanne enough for the care they put in to looking after our beloved pets at the end of their life.

Cookie

We’ve had two of our beloved pets cremated with these guys now, most recently our elderly cat Cookie but previously our giant bunny Bugsy. These guys are irreplaceable and absolutely incredible at what they do. We hand in heart wouldn’t go anywhere else. Thank you so much

Pixie

We recently and unexpectedly lost one of our Chihuahuas on New Years Eve. Devastated is an understatement. I’ve not used Pets at Peace before but wanted the best for little Pixie. So I contacted them and was a little distressed that they were closed and until the New Year. I left a voicemail and within 5 minutes Jeanne contacted me and although they were closed, they arranged for my husband to take her to the funeral parlour and they took over her care, my husband spent some time with her and he said that Jeanne’s husband was so kind.

I went along with my husband to collect Pixie’s ashes and I’m glad I did as the funeral parlour is such a lovely place and it brought me comfort to see where she had lain….the gifts we received are precious, I’ve not put them on display as yet as it’s all very raw still but they are very thoughtful.

Nothing can ease the pain when you lose a fur baby however Pets at Peace just made it that little bit more bearable. Thank you both 💜
