Just want to say thank you to Jeanne & Stephen for helping me put my beautiful boy to rest. Such an awful experience to have to go through, but was made to feel welcome and comfortable the whole time ♥️ rest in peace Senna ♥️ x

As a pet owner you never wake up expecting to have to make an emergency decision to help your pet to cross over the rainbow bridge. Wholly unexpected, and with my heart breaking into a million pieces, I had to make that decision for my beloved Dodo today. The Millcroft vet in Cockermouth that helped him cross the bridge was compassionate and gentle with him. She also helped me to put Dodo into my car to take him to Pets at Peace in Whitehaven. Through my grief the one thing that offered a beacon of hope of comfort was remembering the beautiful tributes and reviews for Pets at Peace posted on FB. I contacted them just prior to Dodo being helped on his journey. Jean was loving, compassionate and couldn’t be more helpful. When I arrived with Dodo, Stephen came out to meet us and he was very warm and comforting in his demeanour. He took Dodo in and when we were took through to see him he was laid in a big comfy dog bed with lovely lights and candles all around. He looked like he was sleeping. We were able to spend as much time with him as we wanted. It was a welcoming, calm and comforting room. We felt like nothing was too much trouble to comfort us in our grief. We were even asked if there was any particular music we would like played whilst we sat with Dodo. It felt like a proper tribute and goodbye to a family member who brought us so much joy. Jean and Stephen let us put a paw print with Dodo’s name on their memory tree and put a picture of him on their memory wall. They shared with us memories of other pets that were on the wall that had passed and it truly felt like Jean and Stephen considered them as their family too. I will never again choose a vet cremation and saying goodbye to my beloved family member in a treatment room. They even got Dodo back to us the same day and accommodated a last minute detail change. And their pricing was cheaper than the vets yet so much more priceless with the truly heartfelt compassionate care they provide. We were given clippings of Dodo’s hair, paw prints in frames, a hand written card, a candle and flower seeds as additional gifts of remembrance. Please consider them for private cremation of your beloved pet when the time comes. I ended up staying for well over 4 hours just talking to Jean and Stephen. As horrific as the day started I have ended the day feeling calm, at peace and grateful with all of my heart for Jean and Stephen and their support.
